My current favorite historical figure is Sapa Inca Atahualpa, who I hope to write about in your publication. He was extremely violent-- the part I detest-- but also trusting, strategic, and intelligent.

I'm writing this comment from Cusco, Peru where I've been joyously absorbing a ton of Inca history.

And while we can judge the past through today's lens, we always have to remember context. Nothing exists nor happens in a vacuum.
